Christmas Concert

There is no Christmas without music! The most exciting and eagerly awaited month of the year is coming to town to be celebrated together in the company of concerts, carols and Christmas soundtracks for all tastes. A journey through the melodies of tradition, the perfect setting for such a magical time of year. The Christmas concert at the Teatro alla Scala is entrusted to the baton of maestro Daniele Gatti and takes place on 21 December 2024 at 20:00 with Petite Messe Solennelle by Gioacchino Rossini. The concert is streamed live on the LaScalaTv platform.
Private Atlas - Chiara Dynys

The next solo exhibition by Chiara Dynys, Private Atlas, will be an anthology-style project, structured in twelve episodes. It will be an exhibition over time, curated by Alessandro Castiglioni. For the first time, BUILDINGBOX will dedicate a monographic exhibition, lasting one year, to a single artist, presenting twelve different installations specifically designed for the exhibition space.

Piccolo Teatro Grassi hosts a lecture on the evolution of art, with a focus on the 15th century and Giotto‘s intuition regarding pictorial depth.
This idea became a revolution thanks to Filippo Brunelleschi‘s studies and Leon Battista Alberti‘s theory of perspective, which radically changed art, influencing artists such as Masaccio, Donatello, Piero della Francesca and Leonardo da Vinci.
Artists and patrons: touring the Italian courts

The Piccolo Teatro Grassi hosts a lecture with Stefano Zuffi on the evolution of art, with a focus on the 15th century and the blossoming of Italian courts dominated by ambitious lords who were both patrons of the arts and leaders of wars.
This period of Italian polycentrism is characterised by a competition for luxury, style and refined works of art, with protagonists such as the Visconti, Sforza and Gonzaga families.

The Piccolo Teatro Grassi is hosting a lecture by Stefania Buganza on the evolution of art, with a focus on the 15th century and the importance of light in the painting of the period, which became fundamental in restoring volume and depth to figures.
Masterpieces such as those by van Eyck and Piero della Francesca. In the following decades, the evolution of light would influence masters such as Mantegna, Leonardo and Bellini, shaping the poetics of the Renaissance.

Corso di Porta Nuova, 38
Cardi Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of MONUMENTAL, a group exhibition that presents band highlights the impact of poor materials and essential gestures. The exhibition is spread over two floors: the ground floor will display impressive sculptures by Jannis Kounellis, accompanied by works on canvas by Alighiero Boetti, Mario Merz and Giuseppe Penone. The first floor will host a multi-panel installation by Luciano Fabro, one of the founders of Arte Povera.
Does water have a space in water?

Sofiya Chotyrbok‘s work explores memory as a living, fluid material, a bridge between past and future. Does water have a space in water?, a site-specific video-performance, weaves together personal memories and universal reflections on migrant identity, using water as a symbol of connection and transformation.

Terracotta for Eternity

The exhibition recounts an era of great artistic and spiritual splendour through terracotta sculpture, revealing stories of devotion and craftsmanship that capture the spirit of the Chinese dynasties.
Dignitaries, warriors, horses and ritual objects embody an aesthetic rich in symbolism and Buddhist influences, with a focus on the Tang era.
Escape Brera... Solve the riddle!

An interactive adventure among enigmas and masterpieces, where children will discover the secrets hidden in paintings, guided by experts. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the murder of Giacomo Matteotti, the Anna Kuliscioff Foundation organizes, in collaboration with the Civiche Raccolte Storiche, an exhibition which aims to investigate his relationship with the city of Milan.
The five senses in Brera

Children will explore through sight, touch and smell, stimulating curiosity and creating a special bond with art. An adventure designed to have fun while learning, dedicated to children aged 5 to 8.

The Climb to the Panoramic Walkways allows visitors to explore the defensive system of the Sforza Castle. From this privileged vantage point, one can admire the entire city while also appreciating the complex and fascinating structure of the Castle.

Portanuova welcomes the second edition of PoP XMAS: the magic of Christmas through an immersive journey of lights, French-style markets and interactive displays.
The little ones will be able to meet Santa Claus by booking through the app and take a souvenir photo. In addition, it will be possible to create a personalised decorative ball with a photo, to take home and make your own tree unique.

The exhibition explores new fairy tales through an innovative narrative and visual approach. 23 oil paintings on canvas, created by Luigi Patitucci, accompany each fairy tale rewritten in the book Il design è una favola! (Design is a Fairy Tale!) by renowned figures from the world of design and prestigious writers.
Alberto Martini and the danse macabre

The exhibition investigates the theme of the allegory of death and the dance macabre, addressed by Martini in some important works, such as L’Albo della morti (1894-1896), an exceptional cycle of drawings, of clear Nordic inspiration, to go as far as the famous postcards of the European Danse Macabre, published by the publisher Longo of Treviso on the occasion of the First World War.

Fabbrica Eos hosts CAOSMO – The Memory of Matter, a solo exhibition by Cracking Art celebrating the collective’s 30th anniversary. Between iconic sculptures in regenerated plastic and new works from the Caosmo series, the exhibition explores the theme of the continuous regeneration of matter, transforming chaos into art and opening up new visions on the infinite metamorphosis of plastic.
ATM Manifesto. Storie, viaggi e design.

ATM MANIFESTO opens its doors for the first time on ATM’s priceless Historical Archive, recounting the evolution of visual communication that has shaped Milan’s urban identity.
In a special section, a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the underground’s “Red” line: an icon of design and symbol of Milanese innovation, internationally recognised and awarded.
Pietro Leddi. The Human Machine
Piazza Castello
The exhibition dedicated to Piero Leddi, curated by the Piero Leddi Cultural Archive Association, connects anatomical plates from 16th-century volumes once owned by the artist with a selection of his drawings, exploring the dialogue between figurative tradition and contemporary forms. Hosted in the Sala del Tesoro of Castello Sforzesco, it delves into the relationship between art and book collecting.

The milanese gallery presents ABOUT NOW by Beppe Caturegli: twenty embroideries created with the Hmong community that explore impermanence and the perception of being. With symmetrical lines and vivid mythological inspirations, the embroidered fabrics become spaces of reflection, including interiors, terraces and landscapes.

On the occasion of the gallery’s 7th anniversary, BUILDING celebrates the artist Remo Salvadori with a solo exhibition.
The works, which are spread over three floors and exterior facades, transform architecture into a living organism, in which the artist intervenes with precision and depth. Between site-specific installations and emblematic sculptures, Salvadori explores the dialogue between matter, light and space, offering an immersive journey between art and meditation.

Two masters of photography explore the small, unspoiled island of Linosa, a fascinating and magnetic place with unique landscape, geographical, and natural features—a triumph of environmental, biological, and vital complexity.
Alberto Martini: The Danse Macabre

The exhibition presents an important selection of Martini’s works from the Gabinetto dei Disegni and the Civica Raccolta delle Stampe “Achille Bertarelli.” It focuses on the allegory of death and the danse macabre, a theme explored by the artist in works such as L’Albo della morte (1894-1896) and in the famous Danse macabre européenne postcards, published during World War I by the Treviso-based publisher Longo.
Nuovi linguaggi - Agostino Ferrari

The exhibition dedicated to artist Agostino Ferrari presents recent works and ceramics that explore Sign research from the 1960s to the new Prosegni.
These explore the relationship between sign as physical reality and communicative symbol, with a renewed aesthetic and compositional centrality. On monochrome backgrounds, Ferrari creates signs that emerge or detach from the surface, taking on a concrete physicality.

Ugo Mulas in città

The widespread initiative narrates and celebrates the institutions and locations that played a pivotal role in Ugo Mulas’ professional activities, underscoring the close bond between the photographer and Milan.
Pinacoteca di Brera, Palazzo Citterio and Museo Poldi Pezzoli will exhibit some of Ugo Mulas’ works, intimately connected to their location and history. The main exhibition is at Palazzo Reale.
In December 2024, Palazzo Citterio will also join the project, on the occasion of its new opening.
Alchimie nel vuoto. Elena Salmistraro

Elena Salmistraro presents her first solo exhibition Alchimie nel Vuoto, curated by Silvana Annicchiarico. This fascinating journey blends design, art, and material experimentation, where the concept of emptiness becomes a space for creative and alchemical transformation.
The exhibition unfolds along a path where materials like ceramics, glass, and metal combine into new, concrete alchemies, giving rise to a symbolic and poetic universe that embraces the sinuous and organic forms.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year 60°

In Milan, the special edition of the 60th Wildlife Photographer of the Year features the 100 award-winning photos from this year, displayed at the Museo della Permanente from November 22, 2024, to February 9, 2025, on large light panels.
